New Store Opening: Cumbernauld

We’ve been a notable absence in Cumbernauld. With some 52,000 people living here, it’s the largest Scottish town without an M&S. Until now. When our Simply Food store open its doors, it’ll become the newest addition to one of Scotland’s five new towns.

Cumbernauld lies to the North East of Glasgow, just over 13 miles away from the city centre. It has two large shopping centres but we’ve chosen a new retail park as the ideal site for our new home. We’ll take up residence as one of nine units and there’ll also be two fast food outlets. Good road links and around 500 free car parking spaces mean we’ll be easy to get to from nearby Kilsyth and Croy too. We also expect lots of passing trade to come from the neighbouring Broadwood Stadium complex.

Of course, the thing that really makes every M&S special is people. So, if you’re looking for a new role right now, this could be just the fresh start you need. There are opportunities for Salesfloor Customer Assistants, Store Operations Customer Assistants, In-store Bakery Assistants, a Fire, Health & Safety Officer and an Admin Assistant.

Our new store manager, Amy Cherry, will be ready to welcome you with open arms and had this to say about the latest addition to the Simply Food family:

“Cumbernauld is a fantastic location for our new M&S simply food store. It has close links to the surrounding community and they are eagerly awaiting our well overdue opening.”
