The future needs big picture thinkers. And that’s exactly what we’re looking for – change agents. This programme is for the influencers. The thought leaders. The resilient decision makers. This is for the strategically minded, entrepreneurially spirited business buffs. We want you to anticipate the ever-changing needs of our customers and work with us to do what we do even better. To propel both our futures.
Working across the business, our new Enterprise Programme will give you the rare opportunity to take on a consultative role in some of our key strategic projects. Whilst learning on the job, we also support your development through a bespoke development programme ensuring you are developing the right skills for your career, keeping you on track to be a future leader. It’s your future, your way.
The application process is an experience in itself. You’ll go through the standard online application and then complete some online tests, which include personality testing, a game of logic and a chat exercise to see how you would respond in a workplace situation. These all allow us to discover if you have the motivation and mentality for this kind of role. There’s no need to be nervous, it’s all an experience to see if you have what it take to become a leader at M&S in the future.
If you make it this far, we then send you to an assessment centre unlike any other. You’ll be interviewed and go through a presentation exercise - but then you’ll have to work your way out of our escape room!
This is a unique opportunity. By the end of it, you’ll feel like a confident professional and will be ready to shape the future. Perhaps you’ll take us with you?
Applications for 2019 now closed.

Learning and Development
We've plenty of learning opportunities both in store and at our Support Office, which vary according to your scheme. Whether you’re managing people in store, or a valued member of a Support Office team, you’ll be learning while you earn, shouldering real responsibilities and helping to tackle the ever-changing issues of the day. You will be given a specific area of responsibility or a project to manage yourself fairly early on - say yes, it's a great chance to shine.
While we‘ll provide the training tools and opportunities, it’s up to you to take advantage of them. You’ll be expected to use your initiative to identify learning needs specific to you – and have the motivation to meet these needs.
Theory's all well and good, but few plans survive contact with the customer. If you’re based in Support Office, you'll get hands-on, in-store experience through our store attachment programme. Depending on your graduate programme the attachment could be anything from one week to three months.
Corporate Learning Programme
Our cutting-edge workshops will hone your business abilities, ranging from skills foundation and competency training to full-on project management.
We're investing heavily in smarter technology to achieve our vision of becoming the world's most successful multi-channel retailer. So we'll invest plenty of time with you to ensure you receive all the right technical training.
We will support you throughout your career at M&S and, with role-specific training, help you reach your goals.
Unlike many companies, M&S performance management isn't just a case of us saying jump higher. We ensure your achievements are recognised, your feedback is heard and, of course, that your career is progressing. After all, M&S only performs well when we all do.
Depending on the area of the business you join, you could have the opportunity to work towards professional qualifications to enhance your career progression with M&S.
