About the programme

The great technological advances we make aren’t just for our own benefit; they’re improving the lives of our customers – making it easier, safer and more convenient for them to get the products they love.

This is a booming part of our business, and the clever analytical minds that can make the right connections and create the cost-saving opportunities needed to keep our brand on top are some of our most valuable assets – and can expect equally valuable rewards.

So if you find yourself drawn to the business side of technology, you’ve just found the perfect programme. It’s not a technical scheme; more about learning how we use technology to support the business. First, you’ll learn the role of Business Analyst, helping translate real business problems into usable IT solutions. After that, you’ll be able to work in a host of different areas such as infrastructure support, system architecture and project management.

Part of a Project Management team, you’ll be based at two sites: Paddington in London and Stockley Park near Heathrow. Here, you’ll learn more about the projects the IT Group are delivering to the business – from our website to our warehouses to the retail systems that are revolutionising the way our customers shop.

An IT degree is good but not essential, however you will need an avid interest in how business takes advantage of technology and innovation. You’ll also need to be a logical thinker, who can work through problems carefully and come up with inventive new ways of solving them.
