Food Technology - Graduate Programme
Head Office (London)
Up to 3 years
About the programme
For millions of customers every day, M&S is synonymous with outstanding fresh food. In the past few years we have refocused a large percentage of our global appeal on the quality of our popular food products which, in turn, has had a positive effect upon other products and the brand as a whole.
Today, a wealth of opportunities awaits you in this programme. As you train to become a Food Technologist, you’ll learn on the job with our highly skilled team – guardians of food safety, quality and legality. Day-to-day you’ll work closely alongside your buyer and product developer, to bring new products to life from their initial concept in the kitchen to full scale production at our factories and, finally, into our stores. From holding quality control panels, investigating customer complaints and attending new product trials at suppliers, no two days are the same.
As well as spending time in stores, you’ll also work closely with suppliers to build relationships and help ensure they maintain the highest quality products and factory standards. If you successfully complete this graduate programme you’ll become a fully-fledged Food Technologist.
To say yes to this scheme, you’ll need a scientific degree covering microbiology and HACCP. You also need to be a strong communicator who likes working through problems and coming up with new solutions, and passionate about high quality food!
