Retail Operations (Head Office)
Expect your eight weeks with us to be action-packed – as you understand how the Retail Operations team at our Head Office in Paddington, London helps to drive exceptional customer service and supports smooth and efficient store operations.
It’s important to understand the relationship between Retail Operations and our stores. So you’ll start your internship in a store itself, learning the ins and outs of how it’s run. Then it will be back to Head Office for a whistle-stop tour of our various teams. You’ll learn how we trade and operate in Food and Clothing & Home.
You’ll get to grips with our range of retail services. You’ll discover how we align our headcount with business needs, how we communicate with our stores and what we do to prevent stock losses. It will be an intense learning experience for you, but we’ll welcome the ideas you have on how we can be more efficient. It will all count if we consider you, and you consider us, for a future programme.
Applications for this role close on Friday 8th December 2017. Please be aware that applications may close sooner depending on application numbers.

Learning and Development
We've plenty of learning opportunities both in store and at our Head Office, which vary according to your scheme. Whether you’re managing people in store, or a valued member of a Head Office team, you’ll be learning while you earn, shouldering real responsibilities and helping to tackle the ever-changing issues of the day. You will be given a specific area of responsibility or a project to manage yourself fairly early on - say yes, it's a great chance to shine.
While we‘ll provide the training tools and opportunities, it’s up to you to take advantage of them. You’ll be expected to use your initiative to identify learning needs specific to you – and have the motivation to meet these needs.
Theory's all well and good, but few plans survive contact with the customer. If you’re based in Head Office, you'll get hands-on, in-store experience through our store attachment programme. Depending on your graduate programme the attachment could be anything from one week to three months.
